NZB Select Yearlings Day-2: NZ$200k Dubawi Colt
Willie Leung's Hong Kong-based Magus Equine also paid NZ$200,000 for a colt by triple Gr1-winning former shuttler Dubawi (the 5th foal out of unraced 10-year-old Danasinga mare Mlada) consigned by Lyndhurst Farm. The colt's dam Mlada is a half-sister to Gr1-winner & 4-times Gr1-placed Lord Majestic, Gr3-placed Foreign Fields & Ballet Honours (dam of stakes-winner Alberto). Leung commented: "Dubawi is doing so well in Hong Kong, Europe & the southern hemisphere, which is why we wanted to get one. This is probably the last Dubawi crop in the southern hemisphere & this colt looks good, strong & athletic & is from a good family, so we were prepared to pay a bit more."
